Why teams choose Kadence

  • Kadence leads on AI for the workplace, built into the platform: one MCP server for booking, visitors, occupancy and planning, native connectors for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot, and Kadence AI in Teams and Slack.
  • Visitor management is built in: hosts invite guests, guests check in at a kiosk or by QR code, and badges print on arrival.
  • SpaceOps builds scenarios and stack plans on live occupancy, and Move Manager turns the approved plan into seat moves and tells each person where they are moving.
  • The Kadence Agent checks people in over Wi-Fi and network on Windows, Mac, ChromeOS and Linux, and those check-ins feed the same occupancy data as bookings, badges and rooms.
  • Kadence works in Teams and Outlook and also in Slack and Google Calendar, with announcements, surveys and custom dashboards in the same platform.

FAQ

How does Kadence fit with Microsoft Places?

Kadence works inside Microsoft 365: in Teams, through an Outlook add-in that books rooms with two-way calendar sync, and with sign-in through Microsoft Entra ID. Places covers work plans, in-person events and booking in Outlook and Teams. Kadence adds visitor management, space planning and moves, and Kadence Agent check-ins feed the same occupancy data that planning runs on. Tell us how you use Places today and we will show where each one fits.

What comes with Microsoft Places, and what costs extra?

Microsoft lists Places core features for Microsoft 365 Business, Microsoft 365 and Office 365 E1, E3 and E5, education, frontline and Teams plans: work plans, in-person events, room and desk pool booking, desk assignment and Places analytics. Since April 1, 2026, Microsoft licenses these per space: individual desk booking, auto-release and occupancy reports for a desk need a Microsoft Teams Shared Space or Shared Space Single Space license, and auto-release and occupancy reports for a room need a Teams Rooms or Shared Space license. Customers with an active Teams Premium subscription keep those features until renewal. Copilot room booking needs a Microsoft Copilot license. Kadence bills by active user; see kadence.co/pricing for details.

Can our own AI assistants act on the workplace?

Yes. Kadence leads on AI for the workplace, and it's built into the platform rather than bolted on as a chatbot. Kadence MCP connects Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot to Kadence, so people book desks, rooms and parking, invite visitors, and ask occupancy and planning questions from the assistants they already use, each signed in with your SSO and working under their own permissions. Kadence AI also works in Teams and Slack, and admins get the SpaceOps AI planning agent with guided workflows to restack, consolidate or find space for a team. In Places, Microsoft says Copilot recommends rooms, rebooks them when meetings change and suggests the best days to come in. Copilot room booking needs a Microsoft Copilot license.

Does Microsoft Places include visitor management?

We did not find visitor management in Microsoft's Places documentation or on its product page. In Kadence, visitor management is part of WorkOps: hosts invite guests, guests register and check in at a kiosk or by QR code, and admins keep a central log of every visit.

Does Microsoft Places do space planning?

Microsoft describes Places analytics for planned versus actual attendance and for room and desk use. We did not find stack planning, scenarios or move management in its documentation. Kadence SpaceOps builds scenarios and stack plans on live occupancy, and Move Manager turns the approved plan into seat moves.
